Abstract
Recently, I have had a few unsatisfying patient encounters. I walked away unhappy and the patient left angry. Angry or unhappy patients are not that unusual, but this typically resolves somewhat after spending more time in the room or explaining things in a different way. However, one patient and her family I encountered this month left me feeling really dissatisfied – with myself, with them, and the system.
