LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. — Miss Tennessee Page Glass surprised those on social media Tuesday with a reality check: that she works as an EMT, and has been for nearly 10 years.
When someone asked her if she “actually works,” Glass turned to Facebook to reveal that she indeed works and that her life is “far from glamorous.”
“I am human and I have bills to pay much like yourself,” Glass told the individual she encountered while in EMT uniform.
Glass works for MooreCare Ambulance Service.
Working as an EMT has taught her to be humble and how “fragile life is on a daily basis.”
“I have soothed a family who just lost their child to suicide while attempting to fight back tears as I carefully care for them during their end of life. I have seen so many things that have made me the strong woman I am today,” Glass wrote.
“So to anyone who thinks my life is full of photo shoots and spoon-fed moments, here is a look into my everyday life. I wear many hats. I am thankful for them.”
Glass also wrote a special thanks to the woman who saw potential in her and helping her begin a career in emergency medicine.
