Paramedic uses Ebola protection to save skunk from cup

PEEL, Ontario — A paramedic donned a full gown and mask to rescue a skunk from a cup last Sunday, and posted images of the scene to Twitter.

Canadian paramedic Justin Mausz was at his station when he saw that a skunk had trapped its head in a cup and was knocking into walls to try to free itself.

The medic equipped a full set of PPE gear meant to protect against Ebola  including gown, mask and gloves  and cautiously approached the skunk to remove the cup. You can watch a video of his daring rescue below.

It’s all in a day’s work for Mausz, who later wrote on his Twitter account that he was leaving his paramedic position to return to university.

This #SkunkRescue adventure is a nice way to finish with @Peel_Paramedics. I leave my full-time #Paramedic job next month for grad school.
